Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about non-medical home care—what it includes, how care begins, how caregivers are matched, where we serve, and what your family can expect along the way.

What is non-medical home care?

ArborCircle provides non-medical home care: personal care assistance, companionship, homemaker services, medication reminders, dementia and memory support, respite for family caregivers, and transitional support after a hospitalization. Services are combined and adjusted as needs change.

ArborCircle caregivers do not provide skilled nursing, medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication administration, injections, wound care, therapy, or emergency medical services. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Where does ArborCircle provide care?

ArborCircle serves individuals and families throughout Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Diego Counties. Availability depends on the requested schedule, location, care needs, and caregiver staffing.

Do not see your city listed? Call us. We will review your location and care needs and let you know whether appropriate staffing may be available.

How is my loved one matched with a caregiver?

We consider care needs, experience, availability, communication style, language, preferences, location, and other relevant factors. Matching is thoughtful, but caregiver availability cannot be guaranteed.

Is overnight or extended-hour care available?

Extended shifts, awake overnight support, and other ongoing arrangements may be available based on the client’s needs, caregiver availability, safety considerations, and applicable employment requirements. The appropriate schedule is confirmed through the care consultation and service plan.

Can ArborCircle work alongside hospice or home health?

Yes. For clients receiving hospice services, ArborCircle caregivers may provide companionship, presence, personal care, homemaker assistance, respite, repositioning or mobility support within approved training and scope, and timely communication of concerns.

Hospice and home health remain responsible for clinical assessment, symptom management, medications, and skilled care. Caregivers follow the ArborCircle service plan and do not perform clinical tasks.

What happens if our regular caregiver is unavailable?

ArborCircle will make reasonable efforts to offer appropriate replacement coverage and keep the family informed. Replacement coverage depends on caregiver availability and is not guaranteed.

Does insurance pay for home care?

Some long-term care insurance policies may reimburse eligible home care expenses. Coverage, authorization, documentation requirements, and reimbursement depend on the individual policy. ArborCircle does not determine benefits and does not guarantee insurance payment.

What if our family has a concern?

Please contact the ArborCircle office promptly. Concerns are documented, reviewed, and addressed through the appropriate care, quality, or management process. Emergencies requiring medical, fire, or law-enforcement response should be directed to 911.
